# Identity Verification

> Verify your identity once to unlock card opening on your StableMesh account.

New accounts verify their identity before opening a card.

## How to verify

1. Go to **Settings → Verification**.
2. Click **Verify now**.
3. Follow the steps:
   * Photograph a valid government ID document.
   * Take a selfie for a liveness check.
   * Answer a few profile questions, and give your mobile number and address.
4. Submit.

## Verification status

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Not verified** | You haven't started yet |
| **Not submitted** | You started but haven't finished. Click **Continue** |
| **In review** | We are reviewing your documents. Nothing more is needed from you |
| **Verified** | Done. Nothing else is needed |
| **Action needed** | Something needs to be resubmitted. Click **Resubmit** |
| **Declined** | Check that your document is valid and readable, then try again |
| **Expired** | The session ended before it was finished. Start a new one |
